Building Young Pan African Leaders through Dialogue

African Descent Youth Engagement believes it’s time for young people to embrace the spirit of Pan-Africanism and its contribution to the development of the most influential African leaders. Drawing from the inspiration and contributions of Pan Africanism, the Pan African Youth Leadership Program will train and mentor new youth leaders in the community using strategies of Pan Africanism and role models of great Pan Africanists like Dr. Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, and many more. Young Pan African Leadership Dialogue Youth Leadership Development (PAYLP) is an integral part of the overall Pan African Youth Leadership Program of reviving Pan Africanism based on the true ideas of the original founders to encourage young people to grow as responsible Young African Descent Youth leaders in their communities. The program aims to build and inspire new young Pan-African Youth Leaders through dialogue based on ideas of pan-Africanism dialogue. The Young Pan-African Dialogue is a new movement for leadership change and rebuilding Pan-Africanism. The youth engagement to inspire and empower young African Descent youth to grow as important leaders by matching them with leadership mentors of their choice from various leadership positions or visiting different leaders from the different political and social systems of their interest component of an overall strategy to combat risky and/or negative behaviors in transition-age youth. Youth development efforts strive to be proactive in encouraging positive behavior among young people, rather than reactive in responding to unwanted negative or risky behaviors. The leadership mentoring program aims to mentor young people as responsible leaders in the community.

African Descent Youth Engagement believes that early leadership training and mentorship can help them to increase self-efficacy and believe leadership mentorship programs can help youth and young people to develop independent decisions helping them and that of their community in general which are important in the workplace and in adulthood. This leadership capacity-building training helps youth to understand their self-esteem and know who they are, and what they do, and feel a sense of belonging in their community. We offer a variety of these programs that aim to help the youth of African Descent to build confidence to stand the challenges of day-to-day and other community needs. The program also helps to bring cultural awareness and help the youth to understand their cultural identity and heritage needed to deal day to day life challenges.

The main objective of the Pan African Youth Leadership program is to build leadership skills in the youth of African Descent to enhance their personal and professional development and to promote community engagement and participation among the African Descent Canadian Youth in their community.​

The programs and services provide youth with information and services that promote positive growth, development, and decision-making.

Programs and services provided include:
